According to a recent report released by the Virginia Department of Social Services (VDSS), there are currently over 5000 children in the Virginia foster care system. Many of these youth have come into the foster care system as a result of abuse, neglect or maltreatment.  Others have experienced some other types of trauma such as abandonment, substance abuse, homelessness, court involvement, and domestic violence.  For these youth, this might be the only life that existed prior to entering the foster care system.

Unfortunately, many of these same youth will age out of the foster care system without a forever family or any resources to keep them connected.  Some will return to their birth families while others may face uncertain destiny.  At Homes of Hope, we want to change all of this.  We believe that every child deserves hope, an opportunity to succeed and a place to call home.

We know that the task of becoming a foster family should not be taking lightly. So we have put together a team of caring professionals who will help guide you through your foster care journey.  Our success depends on your success. We want foster care to succeed and we need your help to do it.  Will you help us?

Being a foster parent is the toughest job you will ever love!  Are you up for the challenge?
